Closer to home, a local salon has an offer they hope you won't refuse. Throughout the month of November they are offering free makeovers to women who donate hair to Locks of Love.
Jane Paymeur, a former Ms. Tallahassee, donated 22 inches of her hair. Now, she hopes her story will encourage others to do the same. In the summer of 2002 at the age of 36, Jane Payemur found out she had breast cancer.
By the end of the year, Jane started chemotherapy, and within 12 days this former beauty queen started losing her long, beautiful hair.
"It was difficult, traumatic, but I wanted something to come from my hair since I was going to loose it anyway," says Jane Payemur.
Before the bulk of her hair fell out, Jane called her stylist who cut off 22 inches of hair. Jane donated all of it to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that uses real hair to provide wigs for children with permanent hair loss.
Jane's experience taught her that her true beauty comes from within. Now, she is encouraging other women to donate their hair.
"Hair is something you can live without. Donate it, because it is going to make a difference in a child's life."

The free makeover is only good for the month of November. Men are welcome to donate their hair as well, and if they do they will receive a free spa service, like a massage.
