Around 7:15 Saturday morning, Leon County authorities were called to the scene of a single car accident at the corner of Adams Street and Paul Russell Road.
Officials say the teenage driver ran a traffic light that later killed her 11-year-old brother, Derrian Penton.
"Apparently, the driver feel asleep at the wheel and went into a sink hole, the vehicle caught fire trapping the brother inside, "said Linda Butler of the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
The driver was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
