It was a free for all in south Tallahassee Saturday, as hundreds of families took advantage of free school supplies, haircuts and even immunizations. Organizers say the first ever Back to School Community Festival was a hit.
Area children were able to pick up school supplies, eat dinner and even get their hair done. The supplies were all compliments of Christ Gospel Church members, who want the kids looking their best for the first day of class.
“It’s nice to have people help us,” said one student.
Thanks to local donations, every child was able to walk away with something.
