Area residents were able to travel the globe without leaving the capital city.

Ten Thousand Villages in Market Square held an International Festival, highlighting the different cultures that make the artifacts that are sold in the store.

The fair trade retail store sells homemade goods crafted by artisans from all around the world. Members of the Philipino community in Tallahassee provided a history lesson and some authentic food for local residents to sample.

"We were asked to participate and showcase our culture and our ethnic display here so that people will be aware that there is a big Philipino community here in Tallahassee," says Arneil Reyes, of the Big Bend Philipino Association.

The Philipino Association feels that their participation with the fair trade organization will help strengthen the community's awareness of other cultures.
