The Foundation for Florida’s Future, a private, non-profit group established by Jeb Bush, has just come out with a video that claims Florida schools were in the pits when he took office and have made tremendous strides during his eight years as governor.
Bush denies this has anything to do with the upcoming elections. The governor says he’s trying to preserve his education legacy.
“It’s more educational," Bush says. "It’s not partisan. It’s not political. It doesn’t talk about campaigns. It’s done, I think, appropriately and thoughtfully.”
Of course, the timing of the film’s release is no coincidence. The GOP candidate for governor, Charlie Crist, says he’ll continue the Bush education plan while the Democratic candidate, Jim Davis, says he’ll try to move the schools in another direction.
