A Tallahassee woman admitted in federal court to embezzling about a half million dollars from the title company where she was employed.
Twenty-nine-year-old Erica Goodwin pleaded guilty to 12 counts of wire fraud and three counts of forgery. Goodwin worked as a bookkeeper for Affiliated Title Services in Tallahassee when she transferred more than $463,000 into her own account, using some of that money to pay cash for a Tallahassee home.
Each count of fraud carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Her attorney, William Clark, Jr. said, "I think depending on how the sentencing guidelines calculate and what Judge Hinkle thinks about her situation, probably will result in several years in prison."
Goodwin's sentencing is scheduled for December 15.
