The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office has made its biggest drug bust of the year. An undercover sting operation has lead to six arrests so far and investigators say there are more to come.
It's a race to the door; with guns in hand a narcotics team in Wakulla County is making headway in the war on drugs. They're after 24 of the county's top drug dealers, young and old, men and women. Investigators say these suspects have very few similarities besides pushing drugs to anyone who pays.
It's those drug deals that lead to these arrests. A month long undercover sting revealed two methamphetamine labs, crack cocaine and marijuana throughout the county. Now, it's time for investigators to cash in. Even if nobody's home when the team sneaks up on them, Pool says they'll be back, armed and ready to reel the suspects.
When the team was undercover they say they spent about $500 to purchase narcotics, but the payoff is worth it. They say they'll rid the streets of drugs for a while and the total bond for all 24 arrests could reach $3 million.
