Over and over Jacqueline Dilworth apologized, shaking her head saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Her apologies are for the family of 15-year-old Crystal Riley, the cheerleader killed Friday night. Dilworth's son, 16-year-old Demetrius Kirkland, is accused of running down the teenager and her mother, Cynthia Riley, in the East Gadsden High parking lot.

Deputies say he was behind the wheel of a stolen car trying to escape from authorities when he struck the mother and daughter as they were leaving homecoming events.

Dilworth said, "I would love to talk to someone and let them know that I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. If there was anything I could have changed, I'd do so, but there's nothing I can change. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

She says she'll keep the Riley family in her prayers.

Demetrius was transported to the Gadsden County Jail on Monday. The 16-year-old will be tried as an adult, charged with vehicular homicide for the death of Crystal Riley.

Fellow church members of the Riley family say Crystal's mother, Cynthia Riley, is still at Tallahassee Memorial recuperating from her injuries. Dilworth told us she is also sending her apologies through her pastor. She says she also belongs to the same church as the Riley family.

The WCTV newsroom has received several calls asking about funeral arrangements. We heard from the family's church members that they are waiting for Cynthia to recover to a point where she can attend her daughter's funeral.
