Two drivers remain hospitalized in the wake of a high speed, head-on crash in Tallahassee Tuesday night.
Witnesses described it as a "ninety mile per hour" drag race on South Monroe Street.
Tallahassee Police say two cars were headed northbound when one pulled into the left turn lane to try to outrun the other. That's when, officers say, he struck another car head on.
Both drivers were critically hurt. Twenty-five-year-old Brian Nipper, who police say caused the crash, is listed in fair condition. The woman he struck, 49-year-old Edna Gilbert, is listed in serious condition.
The car that Nipper was reportedly racing fled the scene. Police are still trying to find that driver and his black sports car.
