A Leon County home was hit by fire this morning.
It happened just after nine o'clock off Buck Lake Road. Firefighters from the Chaires-Capitola Volunteer Fire Department teamed up with Tallahassee units to tackle the blaze.
They say when they got to the home on Redfield Circle, flames had spread from the food on the kitchen stove to the attic. The homeowner managed to get out safely.
It took just 10 minutes to douse the fire, but there was substantial damage to the home's interior.
Fire officials estimate the damage at $80,000 to $100,000.
