Too many options can sometimes make finding day care confusing, but the Department of Children and Families said parents should make sure the facility is licensed and inspected.
"It takes time, but a lot of parents don't think it's important to find out if a facility has been cited or if they violated or things like that, but I think it's important," said Sandi Hall, Director of Miracle Years.
"I would look for staff, certified CDAs, staff that has local backgrounds checks," said parent Norman Taylor.
Child care services must be inspected at least once a year and a licensed home at least twice a year.
