As students return to Tallahassee, the city is taking steps to make sure residents and students know the rules.
City commissioner Mark Mustian mailed letters to dozens of neighborhood association presidents this week. Mustian encourages neighborhoods to communicate with their students to avoid future conflicts. It's an effort to prevent problems like parking and noise issues.
"We want to emphasize most students are great neighbors. It just takes reminding if you're going to live here, there are rules to live by," says Mustian.
The city has a rooming house ordinance that prohibits four or more unrelated persons occupying a residence in certain zoning districts.
