Gas Prices on the Rise

Updated: Mon 8:32 PM, Aug 25, 2003

AAA reports the price of crude oil has risen $5 in one month, forcing motorists to conserve or anti-up at the pumps.

Pinching pennies at the pump has become commonplace in Tallahassee. The retail price for a gallon of gas has shot up more than 15 cents in just two-weeks, forcing folks to search for the best bargain.

The outlook is even worse for those riding in gas guzzling SUVs. Until the official summer season is over they will go up. There is a ray of hope; with Labor Day around the corner, Smith says prices will soon stabilize.

Smith says it's a never ending cycle when it comes to fuel costs. She says the worst may be over for the summer months, but you can expect another fuel hike during the holidays.
