AirFest 2009 is here and that means hands-on experiences for anyone willing to strap in. One of our reporters went up in a World War Two fighter trainer aircraft and tells us how her world was literally turned upside down.

"Holy Cow, Holy Cow, Holy Cow"

That was all I could say as we cruised at a healthy 200 miles per hour, pulling 3 1/2 G-forces doing a loop in a World War Two T-6 Texan.

As the world went from upright, to NOT right and back to normal, it was clear to me, I should probably stick to my land legs.

But, with an expert pilot willing to take the stick if need be, I felt a little like Tom Cruise in Top Gun.

"Whoooo."

Well, maybe not quite, but it was all in good fun as this powerful aircraft prepared for a lot of use this weekend at the 6th annual AirFest.

On Saturday and Sunday folks will have the chance to make the sky their playground.

"It's pretty neat to bring the experience of aviation to the public, especially to people who have never done it," says Warbird Adventures Chief Pilot Thom Richard.

As for me and the ride of my life, I learned that 10-4 was in fact trucker lingo not pilot lingo and that I'm still not a fan of anything that reminds me of a roller-coaster.

Good news is, no white bag was needed before, during or after the flight.

The AirFest will kick off Saturday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. and Sunday from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Not only will there be airplanes -- the local Mustang club plans to be out there both Saturday and Sunday to help add to all the cool things you can see.
