Homeland Security Town Meeting in Tallahassee

Wednesday night in Tallahassee, U.S. attorney Greg Miller hosted a town hall meeting on homeland security.

Representatives of federal law enforcement agencies discussed anti-terrorism efforts in north Florida.

Some also raised concerns the patriot act was passed too quickly in the panic after 9-11.

"We've attempted to identify provisions that are necessary for law enforcement, necessary tools for law enforcement, and then identify provisions that should receive significant review and debate in Congress," explains Mark Schlakman, of the FSU Center for Human Rights.

The American Civil Liberties Union supports corrections to the Patriot Act, saying it allows the government to search your home without notifying you, get a secret list of books you've checked out from the library, and keep files on what church you attend or what medications you use.
