Students Break the Code of Silence Using an Anonymous Tip Line

The Leon County Sheriff's Office is encouraging students to use the "Be Brave" hotline if they see any troubling issues in their schools.

It can be used to report threats of violence, bullying, drugs and possible suicides.

Students said it's a great way to talk to an adult without feeling like a tattle tale.

"None of us want violence in our schools, and this would be a great way to lessen the violence. It would be good because nobody really knows who told on them, so you couldn't really get mad at anyone in particular", said David Rickenbacker, a Godby High School student.

Students may reach the anonymous tip line by dialing 1-877-7BE-BRAV (1-877-723-2728).
