The show is motivating folks around the country to exercise and eat healthy foods.
Madison health officials say the rural community leads the state in diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
To change those grim statistics, several Madison County residents are joining the local program, and so far they're seeing positive results.
Joy Reyes said, "I have a good reason for needing to lose weight. Both my parents were diabetic and I don't want to be. It's not a good way to live, and basically one of the things I try to do is keep the sugar out."
