Campaign 2006: Early Voter Turnout in Florida and Georgia

Many precincts did report some problems over the course of early voting, but the state says for the most part voting went smoothly.

Supervisors have been warning voters to double-check “review screens” if they use a touch screen machine to cast their ballot.

Some machines around the state gave votes to the wrong candidate on the review screen, but state officials say in most cases, the machine just needed to be recalibrated.

In Georgia, elections officials say eight percent, or more than 350,000 voters, turned out for early voting.
