Dr. David Hicks from Carrollton, Georgia, and Dr. Linda Quigg, the current assistant superintendent, are now the only two contenders. Principles around the county say they're excited to see who the school board will choose, saying they're ready to make the transition.

The principal of Cross Creek Elementary, Bernice Mitchell, said, "This system has a lot of wonderful things, it's a very progressive system, and I know whether it's Dr. Hicks or Dr. Quigg, that's what we'll be looking at and making progress in the future and we're just looking forward to it."

Even though the school board just has two people to choose from now, they don't plan on releasing a final decision until after Thanksgiving.
