Nearly 9,000 students in Leon County hit the polls with their parents getting a chance to vote on issues such as school uniforms and the use of breathalyzers at school functions.

Students at Astoria Park Elementary prepared for the election, discussing the different parties and what they stand for.

"I learned that if you vote now it will be better instead of later because if you vote now it will be so much more fun, and you will be able to see who you really voted for", said Ayniya Fields, voted on Tuesday.

The kids results showed Bill Nelson on top for U.S Senate, Jim Davis beating Charlie Crist for Governor and Jackie Pons winning by a landslide for Leon County School Superintendent.
