Forty-five-year-old Edward Tillman Cook of Valdosta is under arrest in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 54-year-old Brooks County man.
It happened at a home on Crosby Town Road just after 5:30 Tuesday night.
Sheriff's officials say the victim was transported to South Georgia Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m.
"I've lived in the neighborhood for about two years and we haven't really had any problems I know of. A lot of people have disputes over different things, but it's just sad somebody had to get killed over it," said neighbor Glenn Parrott.
Authorities won't yet identify the victim or say what sparked the stabbing, nor are they specifying the exact charges filed against Edward Tillman Cook.
