GOP Says Gov. Bush Has Potential to Be Tremendous Force in Helping Brother

By: Tallahassee Associated Press

This is according to a Republican party spokesman, who says Governor Bush is in a better position to help the president in this race compared to the 2000 election.

During that election, Gov. Bush had only been in office about a year and a half. Now after four years of governing, Jeffrey Becker says Bush has better command of the state and has implemented many policies that coincide with the president's priorities, including education, health care and reviving the economy.

Becker says don't expect the governor to be more cautious as the presidential campaign heats up. He says Gov. Bush pressed forward with the controversial "One Florida'' policy before the 2000 election and he likely won't change that approach now.
