FSU Students, Faculty Host USO Tribute Show

At FSU a USO Tribute Show was held Friday night to honor veterans.

It was an evening of entertainment with the likes of Abbot and Costello, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and others.

The event took place under the FSU Flying High Circus Tent.

The show featured music and memories from World War II through Desert Storm.

"Originally, it was gonna’ be a Barnum show under the big top and then we looked and it was Veterans Day, and the war was going on and so much we're doing for our troops. So, we decided to turn it over and become a USO show and invite all the troops from the panhandle area to come to Tallahassee; to come to Florida State, enjoy the show and we're kicking off Veterans Day," said FSU President T.K. Wetherell.

FSU is putting on tribute shows the next two Friday nights.

One thousand dollars of the proceeds go toward a new scholarship fund in honor of hometown hero Lance Corporal Daniel Chaires, who was recently killed in Iraq.
