One way of saying thank you to our local vets is by frying up some fish.
The VFW held a fish fry at the post on West Tennessee Street Friday night.
The tables were filled with people who have served the country and families paying tribute to veterans.
"It's a brotherhood; we want to support the veterans overseas at this time because we're in combat over there. We just want to have a cohesive unit here so when they come back they'll have some place to come to," said Veteran Leon Roy IV, who flipped fish at the fryer.
Saturday, veterans plan to visit the cemetery to pay tribute to fallen heroes.
