In 1945 Dr. William P. Foster organized a 45-member band. Sixty years and hundreds of musicians later, that band is now known at the "Marching 100."
Former members honored Dr. Foster for his contributions to the band.
"Over the years I've always enjoyed seeing Dr. Foster, the formations the band display on the field and I always come back each and every time I get an opportunity," said Geoffrey Brown, a 1980 member of the Marching 100.
Dr. Foster was the director of the band for 52 years. The proceeds raised at the event will be used for scholarships.
