Friday congressman Allen Boyd and Leon County commission chairman Tony Grippa kicked off a local initiative to help families of deployed soldiers.
They've teamed up with the association of the U.S. Army to raise money and resources to help families so soldiers can breathe easier.
The A-USA, as it's called, has adopted the 160th MP Battalion and the "A" company of the 124th Infantry.
It plans to assist those families with all kinds of household needs as well as host gatherings where spouses and children can bond with other families.
