An arrest was made Thursday in the murder of a homeless man and witnesses say he died from one deadly punch.
Forty-seven-year-old Tyrone Smith died Wednesday, two days after a confrontation in an alley off the Tennessee Street strip.
Police officers found a key witness in the case Wednesday night, who said he saw everything and had no idea Smith had been hurt so badly by just one punch.
"He was being a little bit too aggressive when he was panhandling and apparently Mr. Henry didn't like that. [He] started walking away, thought better of it, came back, punched him one time and that's where Mr. Smith fell to his death," said Tallahassee Police Spokesman John Newland.
Twenty-five-year-old Malik Henry of Tallahassee is under arrest for second degree murder.
Arrest papers say he hit Smith so hard, Smith fell backwards and hit his head on the pavement.
Police say an autopsy confirmed Smith died from head injuries suffered in that fall.
