A new trial date in the Kappa hazing case is still set for the week of December 11.

The first ended in a mistrial on October 9. Prosecutors accuse five FAMU students of beating a pledge until medical attention was needed.

Attorneys for both sides say they will review transcripts from the first trial to prepare their strategy.

Defense attorney Chuck Hobbs says he expects this trial to move quicker than the first with about 25 defense witnesses taking the stand.
