George Green took the oath of office as the new district 2 representative. In fact, Green is the first Black elected official to a public office in Wakulla in more than one hundred years.

"Its very exciting, I'm very happy to be here. Very happy to make a contribution to the county and I'm anxious to go to work," said Green.

The last Black county commissioner to win an election since Amos Hargrett in 1885.
