Four-Year Programs at TCC

TCC is continuing to build partnerships with universities to give students on-campus access to four-year degrees, but are they successful?

Panama City's Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is the largest aviation and aeronautical school in the world, but tapping into the Tallahassee market via distance learning produced zero students until the university partnered with Tallahassee Community College.

With a spot on TCC's campus the program has skyrocketed from zero to 125 students in one year. Another partnership will soon take flight. Barry University just announced a deal with TCC as well.

TCC officials say they are not trying to step on the toes of FAMU and FSU; they're just trying to offer non-traditional courses such as accelerated term and night and weekend courses.

Flagler College is now in its fourth year on TCC's campus. Director Maura Freeberg says about 600 students have come through their program with close to 200 graduating.

TCC hopes to offer more four-year degree programs in the future. Meanwhile, Barry, Flagler and Embry Riddle will soon be housed on campus in a building known as the University Center.
