Authorities say it happened at the Wal-Mart on Norman Drive just after 11:30 last night.
Police do not have a description of the culprit, but they say he kidnapped Luis Perez right in front of Perez's brother, and then drove off.
Sheriff's officials found Perez in Cook County some time later and also found the getaway vehicle abandoned on the side of I-75.
"It's appalling. I think it's terrible. This time of year when you are supposed to do for the other man, and for someone to pull a knife on somebody just for money, take him away from his brother. The violence, there's just no sense to it," said Wal-Mart shopper Barbara Smith.
