Senator Cleared on Probation Violation Charges

Florida State Sen. Gary Siplin is out of jail after authorities decided an alleged probation violation was just a misunderstanding.

In August, Siplin was on probation on grand theft charges for using state employees to work on his election campaign.

Siplin's probation officer claimed the senator violated his probation when he traveled to Tallahassee Tuesday for a swearing-in ceremony.

Siplin is not supposed to leave Orange County.
