In light of the recent attempted kidnapping at Ruediger Elementary School in Tallahassee, Leon County School Superintendent Jackie Pons is holding a school-wide parent meeting on campus. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 5:30 Monday evening in the school’s cafeteria.
Pons spent Monday morning on campus, greeting parents and school staff in a sign of district support. Superintendent Pons says the district is committed to keeping kids safe and is proud of the efforts made following last weeks attempted kidnapping.
Leon County authorities are still searching for a suspect in the case. Ruediger Principal Carolyn Spooner says as a result of the attempted kidnapping, school gates are locked following the final morning bell.
