A local dentist lost his freedom and his right to practice his profession Tuesday.
Dr. John Craig of Live Oak was sentenced to 90 days in jail, 10 years probation and 300 hours of community service Tuesday afternoon.
He also has to pay $33,000 dollars in fines on top of losing his right to practice his profession.
Craig pled guilty to multiple felony counts relating to excessively prescribing controlled drugs.
His wife, Margaret Craig, was fined and given probation and community service.
Adjudication in her case was withheld.
