Annual Rock-A-Thon

It's a celebration of diversity and togetherness.

More than 30 local organizations have a rocking chair and members sit in their seats, raising money for the museum.

The rockers soaked in the sun while enjoying live entertainment and arts and crafts, wile step performances and a jumpy jump kept children busy through out the day.

Organizers said it's a great way to kick off the holiday season.

"They just really enjoy being out seeing people that they haven't seen in a long time. It sort of gets them are energized and more in that festival mood," said Althemese Barnes of the Riley House.

The event is a big fundraiser for the non-for-profit Community Museum and Educational Center.

The Museum of African-American History sponsored the day of family fun.
