Florida authorities believe a baby boy was abducted as payment of his parents' debt.
The Brazilian parents told Fort Myers police they did owe money to a smuggling ring, but they don't believe it was the smugglers who took their baby.
Police say the boy's mother and another woman were approached at the beginning of the month by a lady driving an SUV.
The women agreed to give directions and got into the car with their children.
The driver later grabbed a knife and forced the women out of the vehicle, but she kept little Bryan Dos Santos-Gomes.
