Quincy code enforcement officers are trying to crack down on illegal dumping.
LT Tom Murray says someone has been dumping hazardous materials in a new subdivision in the city of Quincy.
The culprit discarded empty paint buckets and various construction materials which can harm the environment.
Neighbors who live in the subdivision saw a truck dump the items and called officials for help.
LT Tom Murray said, "This is not the only area that citizens are complaining about illegal dumping. They're dumping at various locations throughout the city, and so were just putting a great deal of effort in tracking down these illegal dumpers."
Anyone found discarding waste can face jail time or a stiff fine. LT Murray is confident he'll find the person responsible for dumping the trash.
