12-12-06 - When it comes to sexual assault cases, more than police officers get involved. There are doctors, the Department of Family and Children Services, victim advocates, and attorneys.
Law enforcement says having to go to so many places and tell the same story to so many people can add to the trauma.
Capt. Troy Rich with the Thomasville Police Department said, "We don't want them to tell the same story three or four times to an officer, Department of Family and Children Services, to victim advocate; we want it told one time and only one time."
A facility has been chosen for this center, but the location is being kept quiet until the city makes a final decision on this location.
