Healing Hands

One area woman is taking her love for helping people, to the Middle East.

Emilie Beck has been a registered nurse for 37 years. Now she wants to take her experience to Iraq. Along with a team of 20 other nurses, she will assist residents of Northern Iraq while working at a Kurdish Hospital. Beck says this isn't the first time she's traveled abroad, but admits there are a few "butterflies."

"We'll I'm oddly excited, but now I'm starting to get a little beyond excitement and a little scared. I feel pretty good because I've got a good team backing me up."

Beck will be in Northern Iraq for five weeks, where she says there is a horrible nursing shortage.
