Michael Morton and Jason Harris were found guilty of hazing. The jury was hung on the other three defendants. Morton and Harris face up to five years in prison.
"They had a very long week. They had a lot of evidence to consider and obviously considered it very carefully and we respect their verdict and were pleased," said Assistant State Attorney Frank Allman.
Supporters of the defendants began shedding tears while watching Morton and Harris taken off to jail. Defense attorneys said they will file a motion of appeal. It is not clear if the other defendants will be tried for a third time.
"The finding of guilt for Michael Morton and Jason Harris is particularly inconsistent on the issue of ID with the facts considering that Jason Harris had never been the one that purportedly hit anyone," said Defense Attorney Richard Alan.
The victim listened to the verdicts being read from a separate room.
