TaxWatch wants to see local tax rates capped to rein in spending.
The group also wants the "Save Our Homes" amendment repealed.
A spokesman says although "Save Our Homes" has kept taxes down for many, it shifted the tax burden onto businesses, renters and new home buyers.

"The amendment has also resulted in a lot of homeowners feeling like they’re trapped in their homes," says Kurt Wenner of Florida TaxWatch. "They can’t afford to move to another house because if you sell your house, the new house that you buy will be assessed at full value. "
TaxWatch says if "Save Our Homes" is repealed, any homeowner currently homesteaded should still get to keep their reduced assessment.
