DUI Manslaugther Sentencing in Madison

A Madison County man convicted of DUI manslaughter will spend the next 10 years behind bars for his crime.

Joshua Chamblin was convicted last month of DUI manslaughter, reckless driving and possession of alcohol by person under the age of 21.

Chamblin was the driver in a crash in August 2005, which killed passenger Kristopher Sammons.

In court testimony, the defendant admitted to purchasing and consuming beer the night of the accident. Chamblin will be transported to prison on Wednesday, where he will serve 10 years, followed by five years probation.

He was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and pay $8,000 in restitution to the Sammons family.
