Teen Accused of Firing Gun Charged as an Adult

The 16-year-old who is accused of opening fire near Lincoln High School in Tallahassee will be charged as an adult.

Laterrance Barnes is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and from a non-related case, one count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.

Leon County sheriff's deputies say Barnes was involved in a fight last Friday and wound up firing at least two shots at another teenager on Sutor Court, just a few blocks from Lincoln High.

Barnes was not a Lincoln High student. No one was injured.
