PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) -- Five people -- including a 12-year-old -- face aggravated assault charges after an attack on a 77-year-old man in Pensacola.
Escambia County Sheriff's deputies observed the attack Monday night after receiving reports of several teenagers chasing a man. At least one of the teens had a stick.
The Pensacola News Journal (http://on.pnj.com/19sQ21M ) reports that witnesses saw the teens approach the man and chase him into the street, hitting him several times.
Deputies say the teens ran into a nearby gas station.
The 12-year-old, a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old are also charged with aggravated battery on a person older than 65. A 15-year-old and 19-year-old Shaknee Golay are also charged with aggravated assault on an elderly person. Golay remains in the Escambia County Jail on $5,000 bail.
The victim declined treatment.
