A fiery collision in Wakulla County claims the life of a Steinhatchee motorist, and sends another to the hospital.
A stretch of Highway 98 in Wakulla County near Newport was a scene of a deadly accident Thursday morning.
Witnesses say a tire from the dump truck somehow came off the driver then veered to the left hitting the gasoline tanker.
By the time authorities arrived on scene the tanker was completely engulfed in flames with the driver inside.
Some 8,500 gallons of gasoline spilled on the road causing fire to both sides of the forest.
The driver of the dump truck sustained severe burns to the lower parts of his body; he is listed in critical condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
