No, it's not Time Square, these folks are ringing in the New Year the Tallahassee way.
Keldrick Stallwortch came out to the party and says, " I just want to enjoy and have a good time with all the people and enjoy the New Year's Eve".
The Capital City Countdown is Tallahassee's first ever New Year's Eve bash.
And, Crystal Baxter is celebrating New Year's American style for the very first time.
Crystal Baxter is from Saudi Arabia and says, "I wanted to see how people celebrated for the New Year because we don't do that over there".
Mother nature rained on the festivities but that didn't stop party revelers from having a good time.
"You have to do what you have to do whether it's rain or shine", said Donna Smithey.
The free event offered a little something for everybody, with face painting, fried foods, and lots of drinks.
Billy Oates brought his family to the party and says, "There's not many other options so coming down here and being able to spend time with family and just hang out".
"We've been planning all day for some family time so this is where it's at", said Dawn Fuller, made the night a family affair.
Fireworks fill the sky and people show their love and excitement for what 2007 may bring.
Organizers hope the event will get bigger with each new year.
