All of the inaugural festivities kicked off early Tuesday morning with the Prayer Breakfast.
Hundreds packed into FAMU's Gaither Gymnasium for a little food for the soul.
Grammy Award winning singer Vickie Winans was among the list of performers. Other performances were given by the Tallahassee Boys Choir and FAMU's gospel choir.
Those in attendance call the Prayer Breakfast an important part of any inauguration.
"We are a nation and state established under 'God we trust.' I think it is important to bless our leaders and join together in prayer for our country and for our state," said Ann Ahrendt.
Gov. Crist opted not to have an inaugural ball. Instead, proceeds raised by the inaugural committee, after costs are covered, will be distributed to several charities.
