Florida's Department of Education shows more parents are enrolling their children in kindergarten bringing the participation rate up to ninety nine percent.
This means more students are being armed with good literacy skills at a young age.
Florida is also getting a pat on the back for its steady employment rates with more parents hitting the work force.
"It means we have been very successful in our economy to make sure that people have jobs. We know it's a key part in ensuring successful students, because parents who are working families, who are happy, this is important for ensuring the best for our students," said Cathy Schroeder, Florida Department of Education Secretary.
In the Sunshine State kindergarten participation is voluntary.
