Leon County will consider a one penny increase to its bed tax next week, but not before a first and only public hearing Tuesday night at the Leon County Courthouse.
If approved, the county's bed tax charged to hotel room stays would increase to five percent and help fund the construction and operation of a performing arts center.
The center is proposed to be built on the John's Building site along downtown Tallahassee's Gaines Street.
