It was an emotional and uplifting night at the Taylor County School Board meeting room Monday evening.
Only one of the three individuals inducted in the Teaching Hall of Fame was present to accept their award.
Vince Dorman, who served the school system as Director of Finance for close to 30 years passed away from colon cancer back in June.
Linda Maultsby who was also inducted, passed away from a Class-4 brain tumor in September of 2002.
She was a dedicated high school English teacher for more than 30 years.
Linda recently had a book dedicated to her by one of her former students.
Finally, Flora Woofaulk, a language arts teacher for more than four years was honored for her service.
She received letters of congratulations from Gov. Jeb Bush and other state leaders.
And although the other two inductees weren't present, family members say they know they were watching and smiling down from heaven.
A $1,000 scholarship was issued by the family of Linda Maultsbury, for a student majoring in education who plans to come back to Taylor County to teach.
